The problem with releasing episodes weekly/monthly/etc., is that you never know if they'll release them all. I fear they may feel "segay" and cancel it right when the protagonist is about to meet the bad guy which he suspects to be his long lost father, and he just phoned his girlfriend to have dinner today because he wants to propose to her.

Still, I think it's best to buy the series if they are released in your country, not to mention legality.

I've never heard of an anime just stop being brought over to the US.

No offence, but that is a very silly fear. Even if a show/series is unpopular, the producers will still finished it as an act of curtosity for the fans (not including Sega, but you never know...).

Yup, but you can never know... I prefer to have the whole thing in my hand before watching. If there's some (complete) fansubbed version available in a language I understand, there's no risk in buying though.
